Rambles About Whatever

Falling down the Jamster rabbit hole

I may have fallen down the ringtone advert rabbit hole.

I have no nostalgia or memories of these ads, but I just found out about them a while ago and they are absolutely amazing!

Apparently the company was kind of scummy, and the ringtones would siphon your money. But who cares! The ads are funny

Here are my personal favourites:

  • Anna blue - So Alone.
The Narrator saying "THIS SONG IS SO BEAUTIFUL", the words EMO appearing on scene, and The general vibe is too good.
  • Mad Moley - Yummy, Yummy.
I have no words. The laugh, the "GET MOLEY ON YOUR PHONE", and the lyrics. *chef's kiss*
  • Love Calculator ad.
THERE IS A SCENE CONSISTED OF THE WOMAN CRYING. WHY!? It's so absurd.
  • Gummy style.
Gummy bear gangam style. *mic drop*
  • Fright.
"Do you wanna know when you're gonna DIE?", The list of absurd apps, including "AND THIS!" then refusing to elaborate further, and the same narrator we all know and love. this is peak jamster ad.
  • Text message alertsThe attitude, the absolutely terrible ringtone alerts. Why would anyone want this.

So I told my mum about me falling down this rabbit hole. Apparently she worked with making ringtones back in 2003. I decided to look up the company she worked at, ZERO RESULTS, There was an ad for a dating service by said company and another ad. Seemed just like one of those ringtone services, but the company has one of the most generic names that made it impossibe to find. so that's a dead end.

The Blog is Online!

After Ages (1 day) of work, and Even more time (2 days) of planning, I have made the first proper page in my website.

why did I pick the blog to be the first page? because it's the most simple page layout wise. having one big chunk of content in the middle.

The page layout explained below:

Header
Page Nav
Music player
Page content
Site Nav
Page Info

Sizes not to scale

I still haven't decided on the colours or background, but the layout is already set in stone

And now: A tale of my many woes while learning html and css.

First, I started with just plain html. I used two tutorials: HtmlDog's html beginner tutorial, then I went to Mozilla's tutorial. Amazing tutorials. Used it to make This page

How did I learn css? I googled specific things without any use of a tutorial. (maybe it was my fault that css was a pain to work with. Nah, I would never do something silly like that...) I used this on the aforementioned html tutorial page, but I broke the css. so I ended up deciding on just starting from scratch.

Things didn't get much easier...

The css just refused to cooperate. Probably could have been solved just by READING THE CSS TUTORIAL FIRST, but alas, twas a fool's act.

my suffering is documented on this page
